Thoughts:
This is gritty, real and more than a little heartbreaking. As a child who wrote of his experiences straight after there isn't an influential of others saying what is and isn't acceptable. As a result we get to see the reality of prisoners using and even turning on each other as well as the glimpses of hope (school doctor, the nurse that changed his name, those who helped change his triangle) which ultimately saved his life.
Favourite Quote:
"This grim chapter of our past was created by people and it is people who can create a brighter future."
